At American Home Furniture & Mattress, we believe in the power of community and giving back. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting two events that brought people together for great causes: the Lap Dog Rescue Adoption event and the "Pumpkins That Give Back" initiative.
Lap Dog Rescue Adoption Event
The recent Lap Dog Rescue Adoption event was a heartfelt effort to raise awareness and support for small dogs in need of loving homes. Hosted on the newly built patio area at our flagship location on I-40 & Carlisle, the event brought together foster families and adorable adoptable pups. Lap Dog Rescue highlighted the increasing challenges of pet adoption, with many dogs facing overcrowded shelters. Their mission is to ensure every dog finds a perfect match with a caring owner, but they need help spreading awareness. By offering thorough vetting and care, Lap Dog Rescue of New Mexico makes it easier for adoptees to welcome a new furry friend into their lives, and events like this help connect those who want to help with dogs in need of forever homes.
Pumpkins That Give Back
The "Pumpkins That Give Back" event was a delightful way for the community to celebrate the fall season while supporting a great cause. In partnership with McCall's Pumpkin Patch, the event featured pumpkins available for just $1 at our Flagship location, down from the original $5 price. With every purchase, 100% of the proceeds benefited the Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico. To amplify the impact, American Home pledged to match every dollar raised, ensuring the combined efforts would contribute to at least 25,000 meals for families in need. This initiative highlighted the power of community, as participants were able to enjoy the season and make a tangible difference by helping to fight food insecurity across New Mexico.
